It's a new "spin" on that old Schubert song about the girl at her spinning wheel! Beautiful.

Are you planning to brush it with linseed oil or some such to help conserve the wood? It looks totally unfinished. But maybe that's OK. I know nearly nothing about woodworking.

It is finished. You can't see it in this photo, but the wood has a matte shine. The wood appears to be maple.
