bitterlawngnome's interesting beach pictures reminded me of a photo I took on the beach at Poplar Bluff in July, but which didn't make it into my journal amongst all the pleasant images of my children.
I have seen many dead fish on that beach over the years, but this was easily the most horrifying.
(Not as many dead fish since Canada and the U.S. agreed to clean up the Great Lakes in the '70s. Erie was originally the most polluted because it is so shallow, but it was also the quickest to respond to environmental action. The others will take longer.)
