Beyond the bathroom window in grey light, the row of used cars sports first frost.

Standing in the kitchen, I crave the magic cornucopia that will cleanse my body and soul. I pour a small glass of guava juice, spilling some on the counter. The taste refreshes, but falls short of fabulous.

A warm shower enfolds me, reminding me how good it feels on a chilly morning. The dark, wet lover has returned.

Back in my room, I notice my overalls hanging empty from the corner of the bunk, the same place they have hung since May. I wore them every day last winter when my guts were torn apart. They demanded less of my body than other clothes. They let me feel sexy despite the colostomy.

Now, on a whim, I pull them back on. Gently, snugly, they hold my healed abdomen.

Frost on my bathroom window, December 2, 2002.

How beautiful. I hope you're feeling better soon Van. Do you have access to a sunlamp? Try anything to keep that black dog from your door. We both think kindly of you daily and hope we can send you some goodvibes over the ether.

Feeling pretty well today, actually. I just need to give myself a lecture once in a while, and it seems to work better when I do it on LJ. I don't have a sunlamp, but the walks work pretty well, and they're necessary for other reasons anyway.

The encouragement from you and Ian means mountains to me.

It looks like the icicle eyed peacock that was the Snow Queen's steed in the old story. Really magickal. We had a lot of windows like that down here last winter, as well. Brrrr!

Glad to see you writing and posting today, honey. Take care of yourself.

hugs, Shimmer

It's neat isn't it. I took even better pictures of this frost flower the next morning, but when I went back through my files to look for it, I found this one taken at night, which I had forgotten.

I had a good day today.

i think i had the same shower this morning, and the juice thing, but it was a beer. mars has gone direct and mercury isnt in retrograde anymore, so it won't be long now until you find peace again.
*big hugs*

Thanks, things are not bad. I just needed to give myself a lecture before they started to slide. Thinking it through here on LJ seems to solidify my resolve better. I have spent too much time in isolation until now.
