Tim and Dave
Mar. 25th, 2006 10:56 pmWe lunched at Stone Crock in St. Jacob's. My parents used to meet me there when I was in university. It has expanded to occupy four shop spaces. Afterward we browsed a rambling antique store, used book store, candy shop, and Exotic Wings in St. Clements. We entered a store selling truckloads of brooms. The scent evoked memories of hay lofts.
Rain cancelled hiking, so we visited here before seeking dinner.
ghostsandrobots, we must someday attend Café Aquarius, a vegan restaurant famous with out-of-towners. I've never eaten there. We arrived at 8 p.m just as it closed.
We crossed to Diana's Restaurant, another scene of drastic renovations. A greasy spoon that served Indian food, where artists chatted over tureens of chai latté, it has gone upscale with fancy menus and ice-sculpture lighting. My friends were impressed, but I wouldn't have changed anything about old Diana's. The service was disorganized. Still, an excellent meal and fitting close to a memorable day.
