It's rainy and gloomy, more like the middle of April than beginning of February. And it's turning into a movie weekend.

Yesterday afternoon we watched The Blair Witch Project, both of us for the first time. Even Marian said it was creepy, although a little cheesy. It probably seemed far more innovative and original in 1999 than it does now. It's hard to believe how quickly entertainment has changed.

After dinner it was The Silence of the Lambs, first time for me, third for Marian. It's hard to form an opinion so soon, but a movie can't go wrong with two of my favourite actors, Foster and Hopkins, facing each other.

This morning we went to farmer's market, saw several choir members as usual, each bought a Swiss cheese philodendron, and picked up some vittles. At Thomas Video I bought Stepford Wives (2004) and The Life Aquatic, two for $20. For this afternoon we rented second season of Absolutely Fabulous, and Nineteen Eighty-Four.

The rain is turning to snow, but we brought home some beer for me and SoBe for Marian. Steaks are marinating in the fridge. We have nowhere else to go, and nothing to worry about, not today.

Ooooooh if you enjoyed "The Silence of the Lambs", you must see "Hannibal" now! "Red Dragon" is a hit or miss, I enjoyed it but not nearly as much as "Hannibal". I can't believe it was your first time for Silence! Then again, I'm obviously a huge fan...

My movie viewing is infrequent (partly because I watch no tv), and I'm skittish about scary ones. I was attracted to the actors here, but it's taken me a long time to get around to it (and a bargain in the DVD bin).
