These photos would originally have accompanied my poem The colours of trees had I not been so frustrated over the computer problem (sorry, my poems are friends-only for now).

The really exciting news on the computer front is that [livejournal.com profile] brunorepublic has rebuilt his old PC for me, and I will pick it up Sunday afternoon. It is about two years younger and has a much faster processor (2 GHz) and larger hard drive (80 G) than the current one, so once I get it set up I'll be back in photography business. That in itself will please Bruce, I believe, but if you have a chance to treat him on my behalf, please do so. I am profoundly moved by his generosity.

For now here is some remembered loveliness from a Lake Fletcher morning. Those extraordinary maple saplings guard the mouth of our little bay beside Joyce's cottage.

You're welcome. I didn't realize you were from New England! I would miss the fall colours, too.

I'm a New England boy with a Puerto Rican soul...well sort of, lol. I was born here in PR and at 2 years of age, I moved with my parents to New Britain, Connecticut. Lived there for 12 years, and we eventually moved back. I have fond memories of it, especially this time of year when I would go hiking, wandering through the woods with my brother to collect leaves or search for interesting bugs, and making leave piles with my friends and family. Those were really good years, I vividly remember them.
