The score and a MIDI file of "Starlight" arrived by email from Mark Sirett this afternoon. I don't have a keyboard here and can't easily sight read by voice, but while listening to the audio and following the score, I recited the words to Danny. When it got to the part about "two pinpoint fires singing across time and space", it was so lovely I started to weep. Mark—a complete stranger, really—has embraced the spirit of the words. His interpretation is ethereal, but also simple and matter-of-fact. It is well suited to the Rainbow Chorus. I can hardly wait to hear it sung.

Date: 2010-01-18 02:52 am (UTC)They are definitely gourmet style, with somewhat complicated recipes, but if you are looking to add to resources they could be nice for experimenting and special occasions. Now that I am off soy I find they have more substitutions than I am willing to deal with (and I eat butter and eggs and wheat, so the necessity that drives many people to experiment with these sorts of things isn't there for me).
